Kangaroo Island is located off the coast of South Australia.

The island is also believed to be home to the world’s only remaining colony of purebred Ligurian bees, brought to the island in 1884 with the island declared a bee sanctuary in 1885. Be sure to visit one of the bee apiaries to taste the honey and see the bees at work.

In the west of the island, Flinders Chase National Park is known for penguin colonies and striking coastal rock formations. A visit to Remarkable Rocks and the stalactite-covered Admirals Arch is a must.

The island is home to a variety of native animals, such as kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, platypus, koalas, seals, sea lions and beautiful birds. It also has a number of scenic landscapes, including sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, lighthouses and dense forests and is known for its unique natural beauty and wildlife.

The coastline is stunning with many beautiful safe and sandy beaches but there are also three lighthouses that stand as a testament to the rugged outcrops that were the demise of more than 80 ships.
